What is some really good makeup to get the look of skin like a models'?
I'm getting sick of BareMinerals... I want a liquid foundation.
My skin is either a little bit oily or a little bit dry.. it changes day to day but It is very red either way.What is some really good makeup to get the look of skin like a models'?
I think that cover girl,maybeline, Well Max Factor, I believe that you should never use soap on your face it dries it out. My family never uses soap on our faces, and our faces are just fine. Soap dries out your face. Use a nice moisturizer that is easy on your skin I like Dove products for that. You do not have to stick to one kind of label. Some products from one label are good for certain things, I like cover girl for foundation Yet I find Maybeline and Max Factor has great mascara and liquid eye liner. Then you have the New York brand it may be cheaper but that does not mean it isn't a good product, I use a few different things from NY Products their powder products are good, like their shiner is great I use some products that are meant to use for eye shadow but use it to cover small lines in face or dark areas. That works great it can take a few years off your face ladies. If you know how to blend and mix your make ups you will understand what I mean. Try different things out with your make up when you have time you will find that certain products meant for one thing are actually even better as another use...lol.. I'm 53 and I always have people tell me wow you don't look old enough to have a 35 yr old son. That feels real good, better than the cream you put on your face..lol.. There are lots of secrets. I like to experiment! Maybe go without the soap for a while use just lukewarm water to clean your face end it with cold water then put your moisturizers and other creams on while your face is still damp. Soap can really dry out your face and give you red splotches, patches whatever you want to call them. NO SOAP always end your washing of your face with cold water that closes your pores. try prescriptives.... its a bit expensive but worth it for a good foundation and it lasts for a while... besides you can custom make it to benefit your skin type...be sure to get the primer though

Should I go to this modeling audition even though I look horrible without makeup?
I have been modeling for awhile. Recently my agent told me she wants me to go to an audition for a photo shoot for people who have ';natural beauty';. The thing is, I look like an ogre without makeup on, but I have been told I am absolutely gorgeous while I'm wearing makeup. They told us we should come to the audition without any thing on our face, should I tell my agent I am interested in going or not?Should I go to this modeling audition even though I look horrible without makeup?

You're not expecting anything to happen, so if you're politely told that they're not looking for ';your type'; you won't feel too bad. But if they say that you're exactly what they were hoping for?

Some modeling jobs, however, like the true beauty of a person with out makeup on. I'd say go for the job but be prepared to be turned down a bit because of your look without makeup.... maybe your just being to hard on yourself though, maybe you look fine without make up but just better in makeup. Wear your makeup anyway, but wear it VERY toned down. Don't do a colored eyeshadow, don't do bright lips, don't do any glitter or shimmer. Make sure you makeup looks as natural as possible. Cover up any blemishes, inconsistencies, or imperfections, add a tiny bit of blush, don't line your eyes, a coat of mascara, and you're good. If it looks like you're wearing a ton of makeup you might not get the gig because the client will feel like they have no idea who they're working with. It's hard to judge what your face looks like through a ton of obvious makeup, but if you're correcting imperfections, then go for it, just make sure it's subtle. Good luck!

My question is about Eye Makeup Modeling?
I have been told by a few ppl that my eyes are my best feature. which i guess if i had to pick i would pick them too. i teach preschool at a daycare center but im looking for something to do on the side. someone mentioned the color of my eyes the other day and i began thinking. i could never actually MODEL model...bc i just dont have that personality...but i see ppl modeling eye makeup all the time. so i guess im just wondering if anyone knows how to even get into that. i dont want to model...but i would def let someone use my eyes for a little makeup action hahahah...i dunno its random but any suggestions would be great.. thanks!!My question is about Eye Makeup Modeling?
I have heard a lot of bad thing about SOME (not all) modelling agencies and how they make you pay for photos and photo sessions before they take you on then never give you any work. Always check with the local Better Business Bureau in teh US or Trading Standards in the Uk or Similar organisation elsewhere.
I think a better starting place before you go to agencies is if you have a friend who is reasonable with a camera (do not have to be a professional or even that good just okay) Just take 100 photos of yourself in different poses, clothing and backgrounds then pick out 10-20 nice photos. You can then use this as a portfolio, and even better instead of printing them which cost you money every time, host them on a website and get some business cards print with the website address on and just hand these out instead. This is a far cheaper way of doing it and with no RISK. You should never have to pay to get a job if you do there is a high chance it is a scam.

I have heard a lot of bad thing about SOME (not all) modelling agencies and how they make you pay for photos and photo sessions before they take you on then never give you any work. Always check with the local Better Business Bureau in teh US or Trading Standards in the Uk or Similar organisation elsewhere.
I think a better starting place before you go to agencies is if you have a friend who is reasonable with a camera (do not have to be a professional or even that good just okay) Just take 100 photos of yourself in different poses, clothing and backgrounds then pick out 10-20 nice photos. You can then use this as a portfolio, and even better instead of printing them which cost you money every time, host them on a website and get some business cards print with the website address on and just hand these out instead. This is a far cheaper way of doing it and with no RISK. You should never have to pay to get a job if you do there is a high chance it is a scam.

if you have good skin, I'd recommend a tinted moisturizer, they are the most natural looking instead of heavy foundation. If you have a few blemishes just put on the tinted moisturizer and some matching concealer over the blemishes. But if you feel the need of some foundation, I really like mineral make up. I get some good quality with-out-breaking-the-bank ones from www.everydayminerals.com, you can even order free samples + shipping costs (around $3.00). Choose the Matte formula for the natural look.
As far as blush goes, I like MAC's, Everyday Minerals, and Kohl's blushes. Choose a light pink color and apply very lightly to the apples of your cheeks.

Don't worry about copying someone else's style--women are unique and have their own individual beauty. The women you see on magazine covers and in photos often have their pictures edited for perfection.

It should look like a side ways V but very well blended. Finish by sweeping across the bottom lashes for a nice neutral look.

You might be able to. It's not something you can just decide to do for a bit of money. People work and do test shoots for ever and still don't get any work in the model industry really it's almost impossible to get any work and you won't get payed much as an ameteur as so many people want the job. I have a photo shoot this weekend (my first pro gig) - do photographers generally like models to wear makeup (I'm male). I noticed that in some of my present shots my face is a bit washed out. I'm a stage performer and we wear makeup because of the lights. I asked the photographer, but he was sort of non- committal, he said that it was up to me. What has been your experience? Thanks

you mean to model or to apply makeup. either way experience is needed but a network is essential. its important to know the people in the industry. always be on the look out for people needing help. accept the offer even if its small time. a great makeup artist told me this and she said big things come from small things and you just gotta work your way up. practice. involve others so that they can witness and record your progress and skills. create a portfolio.

She just put an eyeshadow all the way up to her eyelid crease and slightly further up, it's some sort of copper eyeshadow try using a variation so that you make sure it suits your skin tone. Then put liner on your upper lash line hers is quite thick but I would suggest making it thinner. Finally just finnish of with some volumizing masscara. That should give you a pretty close look.

You might be able to. It's not something you can just decide to do for a bit of money. People work and do test shoots for ever and still don't get any work in the model industry really it's almost impossible to get any work and you won't get payed much as an ameteur as so many people want the job. my sister in law tried to be a make up and hair model, but she didn't get through and shes really pretty no offense- not that your not pretty, and plus usually, people use famous people to model they're make up or hair products. you could still try out though, u never know. good luck :)

No, they just tone down your skin (esp. your face) to make it a neutral colour with foundation, and then put on normal make up.

Model in a bottle? makeup spray?
for people that have used model in a bottle which is a makeup spray...does it work? i am looking for something that will keep my makeup on and not sink into my pores like my makeup currently does. will it seriously last all day from sunup till sundown?Model in a bottle? makeup spray?
It works and stays put throughout the day but don't forget even the best coverage makeup and be taken off depending on your skin. Let's say you have oily skin and it really doesnt matter how good the foundation is since your base(skin) will glide the makeup off. Also all makeup is bound to go into the pores if they are open. Just wash your face with warm water and then shut off the pores with cold water so they are minimized before you apply any makeup on =) Hope that hepls~!

okay my dad's a photographer and he's having a photoshoot for my friend because he's trying to be a male model and i'm really good with make up and wat kinda make up should i put on him that isnt too much but just enough for male models

What kind of makeup do models use?
I was watching top model the other day and their makeup looks flawless. Does anyone know which brands models generally use and how to do their makeup?What kind of makeup do models use?

The girls on Top Model use Cover Girl because the company is one of the sponsors, and one of the prizes for the winner is a contract with Cover Girl, so they have to get used to using the products. Keep in mind that most models that you see on tv and in magazones have flawless makeup because they have professional makeup artists doing it for them.
Model makeup looks flawless because they have someone else doing it and special lights to enhance it. MAC makeup is really trendy in the modeling world. It's a cross between stage makeup (which blends and covers up really well) and everday makeup (different hues and subtle tones). It's real expensive though.
they air brush it thats why it LOOKS flawless. let them do it themselves and im sure it wont look so good

It's really surprising but a lot of models even just go to the mall and buy some smackers lip gloss and thats what they use in their photo shoots.
I can't give you a specific answer but if you go to the library or book shop try getting some beauty books by models : Kimora Lee Simmons=Fabulostiy, Iman=THe Beauty of Color, Cindy Crawford=The Basic Face.

That would depend on the artist or client, many MUA's don't like to work with models that have freckles, moles or skin bumps. You might want to go and get your eyebrows shaped and work on smoothing out the texture of your skin as well as getting a few pictures with little to no make--up on at all.
For daily wear you might want to be a little lighter on the blush, most of those pictures are a little loud with the colors. Most face models do not wear much make-up at all, just a little mascara and chapstick most of the time
Yeah, sure. Why not? Look up some good agencies and start connecting. I could totally see you as a model for some cool, hip, geared-towards-young-adults line of makeup. You have that quirky pretty look.

Everyone else is asking this question (so why would I want to be left out?). My eyebrows aren't done in the photo because I usually get them threaded and my eyebrow lady was out of town for an entire month! So just imagine them done like Angelina Jolie if you can. I'm not wearing any makeup in the photo (don't know if I can pull that off so any makeup tips are welcome). Thanks.

You have beautiful eyes and amazing lips. I think your skin is very fair! (The camera made it blothcy) I think you have really pretty, long hair. I think you have a nice long, lean neck line, which is a great asset to have in the modeling industry. If you were to model (you totally could) you would be going into the industry as a clean pallet, they would mold you into a better model. I think you are a unique beauty! Don't let others tell you different. You know your beautiful and others just may be saying negative things because deep down inside they're jealous, so don't let other people's comments ruin your day!
Major make-up tips
- none!
I don't think you need to much makeup, just some foundation, a little blush on the apples of your cheeks, a little mascara (curl your lashes) and some lip gloss (clear or a berry pink) and that's all, justthe basics! If your going out and want an evening look, play up your eyes and really make them pop:
- Start by concealing the eye area with a reflecting concealer.
- Using an eye shadow brush, sweep a small amount of shadow over the eye socket, then blend shadow up and out with a blending brush to soften.
- Apply eye pencil in a deeper shade of the same colour as the shadow, close to eyelashes for further definition.
- To enlarge eyes, add white eyeliner in the inner rim and finish off with lengthening mascara.

Yes, I think you should give it a try. Your best feature is your full lips and blue eyes.
My first advice would be to get your eyebrows shaped and like you said, if your eyebrow technician has been out, then schedule something when she gets back.
As for make up tips - I suggest the following:
Eyes: Try a gray eyeliner , Black mascara and Gray, Cream or Plum colors for eyeshadow

For Lips: For women with fuller lips, muted colors such as purples, browns and bronzes are the best choices.
I would suggest maybe some light long layers around the face and some very subtle highlights as well, to give your face a softer look.

please dont listen to the rude comments on here! while i dont think you are model material, you have beautiful eyes and a lovely full mouth. to start out with, i would just do some powder to even out your skin, black mascara, little blush and some tinted gloss on your lips. once you feel comfy with that, you can add in some eye shadow/liner. also you should update your haircut, get at least some long layers and highlights. hope this helps and good luck, you have a natural beauty and dont let people tell you otherwise.

your face shape is nice,but if you want make your face look slimmer here is a trick you can use:

I don't think you need to much makeup, just some foundation, a little blush on the apples of your cheeks, a little mascara (curl your lashes) and some lip gloss (clear or a berry pink) and that's all, justthe basics! If your going out and want an evening look, play up your eyes and really make them pop:
- Start by concealing the eye area with a reflecting concealer.
- Using an eye shadow brush, sweep a small amount of shadow over the eye socket, then blend shadow up and out with a blending brush to soften.
- Apply eye pencil in a deeper shade of the same colour as the shadow, close to eyelashes for further definition.
- To enlarge eyes, add white eyeliner in the inner rim and finish off with lengthening mascara.
You really are beautiful! I hope you try to get into the modeling industry because I think you could make it to the top!

Yes, I think you should give it a try. Your best feature is your full lips and blue eyes.
My first advice would be to get your eyebrows shaped and like you said, if your eyebrow technician has been out, then schedule something when she gets back.
As for make up tips - I suggest the following:
Eyes: Try a gray eyeliner , Black mascara and Gray, Cream or Plum colors for eyeshadow

For Lips: For women with fuller lips, muted colors such as purples, browns and bronzes are the best choices.
I would suggest maybe some light long layers around the face and some very subtle highlights as well, to give your face a softer look.

I love some makeup on men but I don't know about foundation and lip gloss. My opinion though. I do love eyeliner, mascara, and eyeshadow on men when worn naturally (bring the lashline together, darken the eyelashes, and darken the lids of the eyes). Lipstain is also kinda cute on men when it's a natural color - i.e. don't put pink lipstain on, keep it so it slightly reddens the lips. My boyfriend wears all of this but he still maintains a manly look and not metro at all.

I have no clue where to start when it comes to professional makeup!
When I'm at the mall/makeup counter I'm SO confused! What is a good brand/type of foundation, powder, eyeshadow/liner to buy? I'm thinking M.A.C., I haven't used them yet, but have heard good things..

For foundation and powder, I'd either go for MAC, Laura Mercier or YSL. for eyeshadow - MAC, Stila or Nars. For eyeliner - MAC is the best.
If you only want to go to one, then choose MAC. But for foundation, what's most important is finding the one that works with your skintone rather than the brand name. Try it on in store, then wait at least 30 minutes to see how it oxidizes on your skin as it can change color when exposed to air and your natural oils. Also see what it looks like in natural daylight in addition to the lighting in a dept store.Model makeup / pageant makeup question?
