This is going to take a lot of digging, most of which I'm afraid will not involve websites. (Hey, it's your thesis--yoiu should be used to libraries by now...) For starters, though, look into the life %26amp; work of Max Factor. There used to be a museum in Hollywood devoted to his work, but it was closed in 1996 and reopened as a museum about all of Hollywood history. Nonetheless, the first link below maintains the old web page--it would give you a place to start. The second link is about Factor himself, though it's very general. The third is a link to the special collections at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts %26amp; Sciences--where it would be worth a first-hand trip if you can manage it. Finally, the master of modern makeup is Rick Baker--google him, and you'll find a number of interviews and bio sites. Good luck!Where can i find information on history of makeup in film industry?
whenever I am stuk tring to find something I always go to Ask Jeeves.com. Hope this helps!!
:) :) :)
be happy
