Model makeup / pageant makeup question?

I have no clue where to start when it comes to professional makeup!

When I'm at the mall/makeup counter I'm SO confused! What is a good brand/type of foundation, powder, eyeshadow/liner to buy? I'm thinking M.A.C., I haven't used them yet, but have heard good things..

Thanks!! :) :)Model makeup / pageant makeup question?
For foundation and powder, I'd either go for MAC, Laura Mercier or YSL. for eyeshadow - MAC, Stila or Nars. For eyeliner - MAC is the best.

If you only want to go to one, then choose MAC. But for foundation, what's most important is finding the one that works with your skintone rather than the brand name. Try it on in store, then wait at least 30 minutes to see how it oxidizes on your skin as it can change color when exposed to air and your natural oils. Also see what it looks like in natural daylight in addition to the lighting in a dept store.Model makeup / pageant makeup question?
MAC are good for foundation and powder because they have the best selection of colours and shades for skin. However eyeliner go for GOSH as it never runs or smudges and eyeshadow try Urban Decay for strong colours. If you want a more natural look Benefit have great compacts with all the things inside!
If your really dedicated to pageants and modeling, I would invest in MAC makeup. They have amazing foundation, eye shadows, liners, bronzer and etc. Got o a MAC counter and ask for assistance they are always willing to help you try stuff on a figure out what is good for you.
Go to a MAC counter, or store, and ask their advice.

I always find the people are very helpful, and there is no pressure to buy
